Åkerströms Björbo responded to market demand with its Sesam 800—a remote control solution. “We’re delighted to about this launch," says Andreas Hedström, sales manager at Åkerströms Björbo. "We were repeatedly asked about the new system's availability, which indicates that expectations are high for this product line.”
Sesam 800 is a totally new solution for remote control of doors, gates, and bars—plus on/off functionality for equipment such as floodlights and fans. The solution is also used in mobile applications such as winches. Its hand transmitter is available in four models: small, medium, large, and key ring—the most compact. Its receiver comes in several models: a wall-mounted receiver with optional character display and memory card, a receiver for DIN rail mounting, and a receiver for relay socket mounting.
“Right now, we're introducing the first Sesam 800 models—the Medium and Keyring hand transmitters and the wall-mounted receiver," says Hedström. ”Other models will be launched in the spring. The shock-resistant transmitters meet IP 65 standards and thus tolerate tough conditions such as dust, dirt, and moisture.”
The latest digital technology
The Sesam 800 solution offers many new features, including a unique code for each transmitter that guarantees there will never be two identical transmitters on the market. Also new: the system is based on a two-way radio technology which enables a relay feedback indicator on the transmitter. A green light indicates an active relay. The solution runs on the 869 MHz frequency band, which has more space than lower frequencies. Its wall-mounted receiver has an optional character display to simplify adding and removing transmitters and users. The receiver can also be equipped with a detachable memory card for business-critical applications in which one receiver is used with many transmitters.
“The Sesam 800 contains the latest digital technology. It's robust and user-friendly—a combination that’s tough to beat,” says Hedström.
Close association with door manufacturers
Åkerströms listened carefully to door manufacturers on the Swedish market during the Sesam 800 development process.
“Thanks to all the feedback, we successfully developed exactly the right product for the market," says Karin Yngbäck, Sales area manager Sesam at Åkerströms Björbo. “Today Åkerströms exports to more than 60 countries. I’m convinced that Sesam 800 has every chance to be a new bestseller—in Sweden and abroad."
