Åkerströms Björbo launch new powerful member within the Sesam 800 family

An adapted radio remote control for smaller mobile applications has been requested by the market for a long. Now Åkerströms launch an additional product within the Sesam 800 family; Sesam 800 Mobile. The system is suited for winches for ATV’s and forest machines, conveyors and tail lifts etc.

– We are very pleased to launch this product, which is designed to withstand extreme environments where there are high demands on shock- and vibration sensitivity, moisture and wide temperature fluctuations. Something we have missed in our Sesam range, says Andreas Hedström, Sales Manager at Åkerströms Björbo.   

Åkerströms’ Sesam 800 family were launched last year as the latest solution for radio remote control of doors, gates and bars, on/off functions for equipment such as floodlights and fans. Now the Sesam 800 family is supplemented with a mobile version; Sesam 800 Mobile. A robust and flexible system suited for smaller mobile applications. The Sesam 800 Mobile system consists of one receiver and one transmitter of the model Sesam 800 Medium with up to four different layouts to start with.

Withstands harsh environments

The receiver is equipped with six high-side solid-state switches and a fibre-reinforced plastic housing for tolerating extreme environments where there are high demands on resistance. The system is of class IP 67, and can be exposed to humidity, water and dust without interruptions.

– The receiver can, for example be placed on an ATV where a winch should be radio remote controlled. Then, it must withstand rough handling with demanding shocks, vibrations, dust and moisture. We have during a long time been testing the product in close cooperation with several major mobile manufactures that finally resulted in this robust top-receiver says Andreas.

The system also includes the Sesam 800 family’s other functions; it is based on a two-way radio technology, which enables a relay feedback indicator on the transmitter. Very fast function response time and the highly durable long-time pushbuttons are easily operated even with gloves.

Automatic frequency selection

The Sesam 800 Mobile system utilizes the 869 MHz frequency band with 12-channel automatic frequency selection.

– The pieces fall into place, with this product in the portfolio we will be able to offer an even more complete Sesam range. We are convinced that this product will be popular on the market, concludes Andreas.
